Beethoven - Cantatas Voice/orch Study Score

Beethoven's cantatas are certainly among his lesser-known compositions today, but at the time were not insignificant to the composer as typical occasional works for social-political occasions. The two cantatas WoO 87 and 88, which were composed in Bonn in 1790, remained unperformed during Beethoven's lifetime - only a century later Beethoven's research discovered them again and admired the depth of their emotions. In contrast, the cantata "The Glorious Moment", written for a state act to end the war in 1814, was premiered enthusiastically by the public in Vienna - and with its hymn "I am Europe - no longer a city" is now quite politically explosive again.
