Sketches in Style for Orff Instruments

This resource has been developed to give upper-primary (grade 5, 6) and lower-secondary (grade 7, 8, 9) school students an opportunity to experience the elements of style while developing performance, listening and composition skills. It can be used as an extension of any music series or it can be used on its own. It contains pieces that allow young people to: - experience various styles of music through performance. - Develop performance skills-e.g. part independence, beat competence, improvisation, instrumental technique on a variety of instruments. - Build on their understanding of musical concepts. - Have creative input through arranging, improvising and compositional activities. - Participate in ensemble works regardless of their level of musical skills.
